We sat down with John Barrett, Payroc’s Executive Vice President of ISO/Agent Sales, to discuss how Payroc’s core product strategy helps agents differentiate themselves, grow their business, and compete with confidence in a crowded marketplace. ## Q: What is Payroc’s core product strategy, and why is it unique? **John Barrett:** Instead of offering the same product lineup as everyone else, Payroc has curated a customized suite of products that gives agents a foot in the door and helps them sell more effectively into key verticals. For agents evaluating ISO merchant-services partners, the difference isn't just in the agreement, buy rates, or revenue share. First, we’ve built proprietary point-of-sale and invoicing tools that fill gaps in the marketplace. Second, we’re curating both innovative and industry-favorite partner products to round out our core product offering. For instance, Bodega Ai is a new artificial intelligence-powered point-of-sale solution for Main Street retail. For high-SKU shops like convenience stores, liquor stores, and pet-supply businesses, it delivers the features and price point agents need to compete more effectively. Third, one of the key advantages of Payroc's product strategy is that our core solutions are built to support multiple pricing methodologies, including traditional processing, RewardPay (surcharging), and ConsumerChoice (cash discounting). Rather than asking agents to stitch together third-party programs or separate platforms, these capabilities are integrated into the Payroc ecosystem and are fully compliant. This gives sales partners more flexibility in the field, helps reduce merchant processing costs, and creates additional opportunities to win competitive deals across multiple verticals. All in all, the core product approach is more targeted, more differentiated, and more verticalized. It gives agents focus and simplicity, while still providing the variety they need to compete. It opens doors and creates new opportunities. We’ve seen that our core product strategy improves win rate, speed to close, and deal size. Buy rates, revenue share, and agreement terms matter, but sales offices that want the best credit-card processing agent program need more than competitive economics. They need a partner with a strong product strategy, a modern technology stack, and the ability to help them win with merchants. That is where Payroc stands apart. ## Q: How do you see the core product strategy evolving? **John:** We’ve created proprietary products that meet specific unmet needs in the marketplace. But we’re also listening carefully to the merchant feedback our agents bring back from the field. When they ask for new features in our proprietary products, we’re building those features into our development roadmap. We’ve already launched several major enhancements to our Payroc products. For vertical targeting, we have core products that compete and perform really well in small and medium-sized business retail, high-SKU retail, field services, professional services, and more. How does that affect your relationship with agents? **John:** In recent years, Payroc has grown into a full-service acquirer.
